We're always guiding our own lives, even when we feel stuck and powerless. I use Internal Family Systems and Inquiry to help you guide your life from stuck and painful into love and freedom.
Jen Patterson is amazing. She is both highly technically skilled in IFS and highly intuitive. That combination is so powerful in session. She helps me get right to the root of different blocks and challenges. Even extremely complex ones. She’s able to hold all my different parts in her mind/heart, all at once, even when I lose track of them. It feels like she is right there with me as I venture into my internal landscape. I feel seen and understood, even when describing things I’ve not even tried to describe to others.
I’ve had a lot of chronic health issues, and she’s helped me access and clear the emotional aspects of them. I’d been yearning for freedom from some of this stuff for years, and Jen/IFS has been a major player in me being able to regain the parts of myself (including my health) that I’d lost.
“When I started therapy, I told Jen, ‘I want to stop being attracted to crazy women.’ Through our weekly sessions over the past year, I was able to heal and understand myself better. This therapy played a significant role in my healing journey, and now I’m in a healthy relationship.”
“Insightful, encouraging, supportive, caring, and kind. Jen Patterson is an amazing individual and an excellent IFS practitioner. She creates a safe, validating, and empowering space to meet your subconscious parts and begin the rewarding journey of self-healing.
Meeting parts from a place of true self (unblended) allows me to experience self-love and acceptance. This is the first time I have ever felt confident in caring for myself emotionally and that, no matter the situation, I am going to be just fine.”
“Working with Jen through Internal Family Systems therapy has been a transformative experience for me. The sessions helped me uncover and heal parts of myself that I didn’t even realize were affecting my daily life, although in retrospect, it was obvious. I now feel much more equipped to handle everything in my life, including my relationships, my health, and my work, thanks to Jen.”
Recognizing Our Power
We are wildly sophisticated beings, so it’s natural for us to create stories explaining the events in our lives. Those events, from being left to cry in our crib too long, to a romantic partner walking out on us, become fodder for the stories we etch into the canvas of our minds and bodies. These stories are retold through our physical symptoms and through the dysfunctional patterns that repeat in our lives over and over.
“I’m stupid.”
“I don’t belong.”
“I’m not worthy.”
These are the stories held deep inside by some parts of our psyche. Even if other parts of us know this isn’t true, the stories attract evidence into our lives to try to prove them true over and over again. Sometimes they’re held so deeply and hidden so well by our distractions that we don’t even know which stories we’re driven by.
Then these stories lead us into the very things we’re most afraid of, things like lack, disconnection and rejection. But what if they aren’t true? With Inquiry and IFS we can find the threads of the story even though it’s often woven deeply in the subconscious and unravel it like a piece of fabric. When our conscious and subconscious minds are aligned our symptoms can relax, we can attract what we truly want in our lives and our patterns soften.
